Shadow is a two-year old Dutch Shepherd and is from the Netherlands. He was sworn in as an official Police K-9 on March 9, 2006. Officer Cecil Simmons and Shadow are the first K-9 Unit that the department has ever had. Officer Simmons has been with the department for two years. Shadow and Officer Simmons received training through the Illinois State Police K-9 Academy. Shadow is trained in Narcotics Detection, Search and Bite for Patrol. |
